- About Me
- Tim McCall, also known as Jirah / Resonant Dawn, is known for creating energetic and atmospheric trance music, and through his new creation Resonant Dawn is moving into the future with a fusion of psychedelic sound and world beats.
For the last 13 years, Tim has been working in the electronic music scene as a dj / producer under the name of Jirah. His music has been heard far and wide, and he has traveled around the globe performing his own unique blend of melodious, funky, high-energy psytrance. Tim has worked with some of the best labels in the business, appearing on over 40 compilations to date.
Raised in a very musical family, he learned much about music and the importance it plays in our lives. He was drawn early on from the age of 12 to 80's pop and early techno music, leading him to experiment with various instruments and digital processing. At age 16 he began to dj a mixture of house and progressive trance. His first exposure to goa/psy music came with the release of the "Blue Room / Trip Through Sound" compilation in 1997, which did much to influence him to dj and ultimately produce this type of sound. Jirah was formed in 1997 first as a dj name then soon after as the artist name.
In 2008, Tim began a new journey into the world of chillout and downtempo under the artist name "Resonant Dawn". There are no boundaries in this music; it is anything and everything, always painting unique and fascinating pictures in sound. Sometimes chilled and meditative, while other times funky and upbeat, there is a little something for everyone! The debut Resonant Dawn album "Waking Moments" is due for release soon on Psymbolic Records.
Aside from his personal music projects, Tim has recently ventured into the world of sample production, with a psytrance sample library released on Zenhiser Pro Audio in 2009 and more on the way! Stay tuned because the best is yet to come....

Haiti Appeal CD now available via pre-order from Organic Records

yet, Organic Records have put together an amazing set of music to support the people of Haiti. Featured on this CD is the debut release of my new Resonant Dawn project, of which an album is due for release very soon! There is also a digital release with even more music from excellent artists. Please check this out as it is for a good cause and a real collector's item also!
