And if you're really new to it all, or fed up with your slow and buggy DAW, be sure to check: Reaper
No need to crack, cheap to purchase, very versatile, support VST(i), Rewire and is lightning fast!

I like it!

I'm making my tracks using Logic Pro 8, I'm still on the "experimental" stage of the endless learning.

Most common vst's used are ESX24, EFM1, Ultrabeat, Sculpture, NI FM8, NI Absynth, Albino3, Vanguard and just got reFX Nexus a few days ago.

I'll upload my first track when it's finished, in a couple of days I hope hehe.

Peace it up!

My main setup for producing is Cubase 3, an Access Virus TI, and... well... an assload of plugins. :) I use Ableton Live but strictly for DJing. I really love that I can just dump my cubase project folders into Ableton so I can just play sample layers of my tracks across my whole set without playing entire tracks themselves. Definitely one of my favorite things about DJing with that program. :)

i don' think that it matters how or with which program one produces his music. it's the result that matters. maybe i got possibilities in one program, and totally different ways of producing in the other one. it also matters that the producer is firm in his program, which one ever... one says this software is better because of.... the other one says i prefere this program because of....

at the end it's rather a question of being creative and unique with the possibilities you got...

and especially: HAVE FUN DOING IT, THIS IS AUDIBLE!!!

or am I completely wrong?

You couldn't say it better!

I use Cubase 3, and loads of vst plug-ins. Reason 4 I use from time to time. It's great for certain sound types, but I'll always rewire it through Cubase. No offence guys!! I think the Cubase Audio engine is much better than Reason's, although Reason 4 is much improved!!

VST's include Vanguard, Beast, Korg Legacy, Albino 3, Tau Pro, Specrasonic Stuff and many more....

It's just what you do with all of these that counts in the end!
